Amirite is your place to share your opinions about life, love, people and anything else you want. People will vote and comment on what you post to let you know if they agree or disagree.

This website is based on the idea of FMyLife where anybody can go and post their life stories and others can rate them up or down. We took that concept and applied it to a popular internet meme "amirite", meaning "am I right?".

Each post has two buttons at the bottom: "Yeah You Are!" and "No Way". If you agree with what the person has said, click "Yeah You Are!". If you disagree, click "No Way". The score shown next to each post is the number of "Yeah You Are"s minus the number of "No Way"s.
To make a post just click 'add your own' and write what you want. You don't need to create an account or even give your name. Just post something original.

No, you don't. Anybody can post, comment and vote without having an account. However there are additional features only available to those with an account. See here for more information.

For the most part, you are free to post whatever you want. But we do have a few rules:

• Don't post something that's been posted before - use the search if you're not sure.
• Your post should make sense as a question and be something people can answer. That means, dont post something about your friend Jim that people who don't know him won't be able to answer.
• Don't post personal attacks about other people, other people's personal information, spam or nonsense.
• Be creative and come up with original ideas people will enjoy reading.

Because posts on this site are opinions, it's not a simple case of picking the ones with the highest score; a post can be an unpopular opinion but still be good. In fact the posts where the votes are evenly tied are some of the best ones.
In order to pick the best posts, registered users have an extra button on posts in addition to the "yeah you are" and "no way" buttons. Once you've voted yes or no on a post this button will appear and give you the option to vote to get that post on the home page. When a post reaches enough home page votes, it gets on the home page. But you only have a limited number of home page votes per day - so use them wisely.
In addition to this we also have a team of moderators who can add good posts to the home page.

• How Is The Post Of The Day Chosen?
  The admins choose the post of the day when we see a really good post. Not necessarily a post a lot of people agree with, but one that make you think and demonstrates what amirite is all about. We pick posts that will give a good first impression of the site as that is the first post new visitors see. The post of the day is usually chosen about a month in advance.

• How Do I Delete My Post?
  You have 3 minutes to edit or delete you post after you create it. This gives you enough time to edit mistakes or delete it if you change your mind. You can't delete your post after that becuase it would allow people to delete their posts just because people disagree with them, to try and raise their average score. We don't want to allow this because amirite isn't a competition, it's just for fun.

• What Is The Icon In The Bottom Left For / What Is Blind Mode?
  If you don't want your opinion to be swayed by the number of votes or by who made the post, click the new icon in the bottom left to turn on blind mode and the score, number of votes and name of the poster get hidden on every post until you turn it off.
• What Does Adding A Friend Do?
  Adding a friend is essentially "following" that user. You can see posts from people you have added as friends on the Friend's Posts page. Names of your friends appear on green on the site.
