+34 We let our pets go their whole lives as virgins. amirite?

by DesignerLeg 1 week ago

Fr, imagine as soon as you become a teen and start getting horny desires your parents decide to get your balls chopped.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Help control the human population. Have your teens spayed or neutered.

by Left_Floor7102 1 week ago

I've seen people say that on twitter unironically.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Every kid deserves good parents, but not every parent deserves to even have kids

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This is why I waited till 30 to even consider having kids. But childhood trauma and the aversive/dread view of childhood can do that to a person. My whole adulthood of feeling dread about childhood had a huge impact on me, till I realised I didn't have to be like my parents

by boehmila 1 week ago

People shouldn't have kids if they don't want

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I actually read a book like that, pretty good.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

What's the book

by patrick80 1 week ago

If you wait until the sexual behavior has started, it's too late, it's ingrained. That's why castrating pedophiles doesn't work.

by creminjoseph 1 week ago

That took a drastic turn I wasn't prepared for

by Kaitlinlockman 1 week ago

Every conversation on the Internet is headed for pedophiles or Hitler. I just took a shortcut. Gerbils to pedos, beat THAT speedrun, pussies.

by creminjoseph 1 week ago

Even if they don't want to have sex, they are still going to be judged as virgins by cat society.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I'm pretty sure they still have minimal levels of horniness, just a lot less

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I waited to neuter my dog because I wanted to wait for him to finish growing (XXL breed) before possibly gaining weight after the surgery. I wanted to avoid joint issues from gaining weight too fast. I caved and did it early because he was clearly stressed from being this horny all the time, and my legs were bruised because he always grabbed my leg. I had him fixed and his urge was gone the same week, he's more relaxed now.

by These_Lab5448 1 week ago

Have had 3 Jack Russells, first one wasn't spayed, while the last two have been. The first one appeared a much happier more well rounded dog, than the two that have been spayed. Small sample size , and all that... Now this is in Japan, in an area where you rarely see any strays, I don't think we're getting the next one(if we ever get another) fixed.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's bad enough to experience that in a human relationship when your partner doesn't feel like it for a month straight, can't imagine it being like that for a pet all their life

by Anonymous 1 week ago

That's why I only have pure bred pits. That way I can get paid and my male gets laid win win 😁

by Objective_Island 1 week ago

And then yell at you for trying to jerk it

by Mcglynnkrystal 1 week ago

I mean I've pretty much done that mentally to myself 🤣 abstinence.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Depends...? If you adopted strays, they may have had sex before the adoption and spaying.

by Great_Ability1414 1 week ago

A friend's ginger was lost for a few days and then came back home on it's own, next thing we know, we're all adopting her little offsprings

Well the thank you note he left is a good indicator.

by KookyProfessional113 1 week ago

If you have a girl cat, do not feel bad about her missing out on anything. Boy cats have barbed penises, which is why cats scream when they have sex.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Why is it evolutionary effective to have them barbed?

by Aggressive_Winner394 1 week ago

I have read this on ELI5 one time! Basically it induces ovulation, so that the cat gets immediatelly pregant

by Yjohns 1 week ago

So the female doesn't run away once the male get inside.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Oh wow

by Aggressive_Winner394 1 week ago

Now the username checks out.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

How have we not bred this trait out of them or something

by blandaemmet 1 week ago

These are cats, not dogs. The vast majority of cats are the same breed.

by beattyjefferey 1 week ago

Because nobody has cared enough to try.

by DealCool 1 week ago

Yeah, it's painful for her, but that's just how it works. It's like eating or sleeping for them, it's just a part of life

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Speak for yourself ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)

by nquitzon 1 week ago

My cat is pregnant. Do you think we may be expecting a cat messiah?

by gregoriodicki 1 week ago

Religion in a nutshell.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Don't feel guilty; there's strong evidence cats domesticated themselves and some theories that dogs did the same, so this is on them.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Domestic dogs and cats cannot live in the "wild" as they are not wild animals. They evolved from wild ancestors, but they are not "wild" themselves. They evolved over thousands/millions of years, specifically to live with humans.

by Yaltenwerth 1 week ago

Human's existence is way different than it was when we were in the wild too. We train our kids from birth at home and at school to live certain ways, eat certain things, and do a lot of other stuff the way we want them to, because we were taught that's the way it should be. And we can still be happy living this artificially conceived existence, just like the pets can, especially if the pets have grown up knowing nothing else.

by No_Selection_9226 1 week ago

Im here to change that

by Necessary_Detail6603 1 week ago

Not true. My dog humped my leg for many years.

by cordelleffertz 1 week ago

Dry humping =/= sex

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Tell that to the Walmart employees :(

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's almost necessary for some pets to live indoors, especially with other pets. That said I get sad when I think that my boys won't have any kittens of their own for me to raise long after they're gone

by Alfredovolkman 1 week ago

Neither of my pets are virgins, even though they are fixed. Now that you mention it. My dog had a girlfriend for a while. A fat weiner dog named Tallulah Belle. He definitely was getting in with her every chance he got.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Bold of you to assume...

by hamillwarren 1 week ago

Tell that to my grandma's old cat who ran out and started a family outside

by SalamanderWorldly 1 week ago

Responsible pet owners spay and neuter their pets so this doesn't happen

by Anonymous 1 week ago

No, it was too late for him. A week or two after he ran away my grandma found him outside with his own family, he's feral by then and didn't want to come back

by SalamanderWorldly 1 week ago

Which all could've been avoided

by Austyn95 1 week ago

Cutting off their balls or spraying doesnt help.

by gay52 1 week ago

Jesus wept.. someone call rspca on the OP before he tries to remedy this

by tleuschke 1 week ago

I think OP meant with other cats/dogs.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I know….

by tleuschke 1 week ago

Yup. Just goes to show, there's other fun/fulfilling things to do besides sex.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Brother. It should stay that way.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

tell that to my dog's pillow

by Anonymous 1 week ago

And barring animal abuse, look how happy most of them seem to be. Lmao

by Pohara 1 week ago

Not everyone, I let my dog get his. He's a beautiful boxer . He needs to spread his beautiful seed

by Anonymous 1 week ago

No, not really. My cats are outside and have fun.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Everything in life became a game of six degrees of separation on how to get laid after discovering sex, they're probably better off not knowing

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Everything is about sex- except sex. Sex is about power

by blandaemmet 1 week ago

My dog gets way more action than me, because he gets to visit a breeding farm every now and then.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

My cats are virgins, but still have herpes.

by bahringeremmet 1 week ago

Yeah so am I he ain't special

by Sorry-Exchange 1 week ago

by Anonymous 1 week ago

And when I try to fix it, I am called a pervert.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

They don't use protection

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I know what I must do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

My cat sired some offspring. Covid was so inconvenient. Soooo inconvenient 🤦‍♂️

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Mine isnt, she has 8 kittens as a teenager. (she was a stray that got trapped when she was pregnant, dont roast me)

by Aaliyahjenkins 1 week ago

My jack Russell lost his virginity by accident at 13 now I have a 5 year old grandpup (Jack Russell is now 19 and still a randy old man)

by kuvalisjaylan 1 week ago

Well aside from my rodents, almost all my pets are unfortunately not, to my biggest dismay, all my budgies are siblings yet they keep mating with each other 🙄 and my cockatiel thinks I'm his mate and tries to mate on my neck. My male cat was a stray I fed and saw doing the deed when he was like 4 months old, he got neutered right after that. My female cat was found with her babies before I adopted her so that's a moot point. Now my female cockatiel is probably freaking ace lol. She shows no signs of being hormonal and doesn't care for the male cockatiel (he doesn't care for her either) or the budgies who keep trying to woo her. She doesn't even get the hormonal rage birds sometimes get in the spring. She just doesn't care lol.

by jazlynhowe 1 week ago

Do we though?? I mean, if you have a pet that goes outdoors you have no guarantee to that

by Anonymous 1 week ago

the fkin audacity of us smh

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Imagine how peaceful the world would be with more eunuchs.

by Ambitious_Duck114 1 week ago

We also breed pets before they're 18.

by Heidi95 1 week ago

How many pets ever reach 18 in human years?

by Yaltenwerth 1 week ago

Maybe a few.

by Heidi95 1 week ago

It depends if you count fishes/shrimps that went through sexual reproduction as virgins or not.

by Oral87 1 week ago

They're going through it with me

by SignalAd4801 1 week ago

A lot of animals in the wild already share the same fate, or at least the male half of the species.

by Empty-Energy-1367 1 week ago

Not me bruh, I got my boy a vasectomy instead of desexed, he still bangs

by Even_Feeling 1 week ago

Not true. My dog has made sweet sweet love to his pillow on many occasions.

by eliza34 1 week ago

My slutty little kitten got herself pregnant at 4 months old. The vet said he could save her or her babies but she is too small to carry them. So she had an abortion when she got spayed. Her sister was not so adventurous. So now I'm wondering which of the two was better off. Is it better to know and never have it again? Or better not to know what you're missing?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Weird ass furry mf

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I wonder if birth control for pets exist. Even then, it usually isn't a pleasant experience for the female cat, since male cats have barbed penises that pierce and harm the female. They are usually uncomfortable for hours after. So I guess its dependent on the species? Most animals have intercourse when in heat and not as means of just intimate pleasure and relationship, so it carries a different value compared to humans. Some primates do indulge in sex for pleasure but I think its only certain bonobos, whales and dolphins that have shown signs of mating for intimate pleasure and companionship. Most animals simply mate when in uncomfortable heat. Obviously studies are limited so we wouldn't know if animals truly see sex as a means of companionship and partnership.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yes; birth control exists for pets, and has for centuries. It's called having them spayed or neutered

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Well yes, and no. I meant temporal protection. Spaying and neutering are permanent. Spayed females do not even go into heat after being spayed, so the sex drive reduces if not completely depletes. (Males tend to still retain sexual urges though) Are there temporary protective ways to allow sex between animals that don't involve removal of the testes and ovaries? There are probably forms of birth control out there though now that I think about it. But is sex necessary for the social lives and general health of domestic animals?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Thinking too hard about this one. Take a break to prevent pet overpopulation by having your pets spayed or neutered.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Don't have pets but agree.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yes it's called birth control pills. My sisters cat was in it and so was the cat I adopted. I got my cat off it and had her spayed a few weeks after I got her

by Anonymous 1 week ago

They may live and die as virgins, but like any good owner, it is my intention that they aren't buried as such.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I've heard it's painful.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

If im not getting any they're not getting any. Haha...

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I worked at a dog resort that has day care. We had a first timer family come in and they wanted us to keep a a diaper on the dog. We couldn't because it's a danger (like if another dog grabbed onto it). Their reasoning for the diaper was they didn't want their dog to get humped because it's a virgin.
