There's nothing wrong about doing everything with your spouse/partner, amirite?

Who are the people you've surrounded yourself with that are telling you it's not ok to hang out with your spouse?

Why do you care what random people say online? Come on….. I would explain to your close friends and family that it's your relationship, not theirs. If they don't like it too bad.

It's not about caring, it's just extremely surprising to me, I've started seeing this more and more and I struggle to understand. What does it mean for our younger generations if stuff like that is becoming popular? Oh I already explained that to them and they don't bring it up. I know they think it's weird but they keep it to themselves so it's good to me.

I really think people are just bitter about not having found a connection like the two of you have.

If it works, it works. I do eventually need time alone to decompress, but that doesn't mean I don't love doing stuff with my wife. I just need time for myself sometimes. I will say, it is normally not very healthy to never have alone time, but if you like it that way, then who cares?

Curious here - why would you say it isn't normally "healthy" to not have alone time ? I'm in the same boat as OP and would respectfully disagree with you.

I can see why people would see this is problematic because it could imply you're not your own person. But to each their own. While I love my partner and we spend a lot of time together, I want and need alone time.

I had the same hobbies, interests and values before I met him, we just are similar persons! To each their own I agree, what matters is to respect that people may prefer different dynamics.

Totally! 💯

I agree with you op, you should tell those people to mind their own business. What works for you works for you no need to change it because someone says so.

Most people date someone they don't really like but they don't wanna be alone or they don't wanna like have a physical mismatch or financial mismatch so they'll let actual things in common be the things they compromise on. I think people who are happy to spend most of their time together and share most of their activities together are truly lucky.

Your spouse is your best friend. There's nothing wrong with doing everything with your best friend. People that have a problem with it are jealous.

I agree with this with my full chest. My partner is my best friend and if I can do anything and everything with them I will. Even our time that's our "personal" time we're still in the same room just doing our own thing.

Yes same!!

The kindest reason is that people might be afraid of burnout - getting tired of each other due to constant exposure. If you don't feel that's a possibility, keep doing what you're doing, you're fine! Be 😊

Until one dies…. It happened to my mom when my dad died and she has been miserable for 20 years now. I am not saying don't spend all your time with your spouse, but I recommend maintaining other friendships as well.

its not "people in a relationship/married are wrong for spending any/extended amount of time around each other" is "people in a relationship are wrong for ONLY spending time with their partner and literally nobody else". Even if youre happy like that, its not healthy to be emotionally reliant or only spend time with ONE person. Like it just isnt. Nobodys saying being around your partner at ALL is toxic, whats being talked about is the codependent "literally cannot be away from each other for more than a few hours, obsessively thinking and checking in, unable to be a full realized self separate from your partner". The same would go for ANY relationship, its equally as toxic if its a friend too
