It's hilarious when school textbooks try too hard at being racially diverse. "Brad, Latisha, Pablo and Kwan were doing a math problem...", amirite?

@51189 (lilly): omg thats hilarious!!!
Last week I looked back in one of my 5th grade workbooks and found the same thing, only it's always "Latino" names and "White" names. "John and Jose were playing a board game..." And in all the pictures there is always 1 white boy in a wheelchair, 1 white girl, 1 black boy, 1 asian girl, and 1 latino boy- and they are all friends.

I've found some of the most ridiculous names. Not to sound all racist, but can't they just say, you know, Bob and Tina were doing such and so?

Or they try and be clever and funny and say stuff like, "Tom went to the store to buy mouse traps, and Jerry went to pick up cat litter two hours later...etc. "

@242814 (Anonymous): You do realize that the first part of the post says, 'Today I saw a post on amirite...". Meaning that my post came first (in order for the OP to reference it) and is therefore the original. I didn't get this from MLIA. MLIA got this from me.
@242999 (ilostmyshoe): I know that. I was just saying that someone liked your post so much they posted it on MLIA. I didn't mean to offend you....

@243022 (Anonymous): If it makes you feel any better I feel like a major tool right now. Sorry. It's just that usually when someone posts "MLIA" or "Facebook" and nothing else they're accusing the person of ripping the post off another site. I get defensive about my amirites lol :)
@243025 (ilostmyshoe): haha no problemo. You have a right to be defensive. I hate when people try to ruin good posts by doing that.@243025 (ilostmyshoe):
