+3,557 It's stupid how at the movie theaters 13 year olds are charged as adults, but they can't watch an adult movie until they're 18, amirite?

i guess there is a student option? but you'd have to carry your student id with you

they sit in adult seats

I've figured out that since teens are in the middle, we're only adults when it's in their advantage. Ex. "Come do the dishes." "Can I finish watching TV?" "No, you need to be a responsible adult." Then "Can I go out with my friends?" "No, you're just a kid!" "Wait, what?"

I think it's 17 to get into "R" rated movies. But yeah, you do have a point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP was talking about pornos. You have to be 18 for those.

how much is adults?

Isn't your argument the same one they used to lower the voting age? something like if you're old enough to fight, you're old enough to vote.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think that's a good argument. Most kids only go for what their parents believe. They should have a chance to choose their own beliefs before being allowed to vote

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also reminds me of the argument over the fact that 18 year olds can die for their country, but not drink

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Personally, I wouldn't like to think of soldiers, men with GUNS, handling liquor. Imagine an 18 year old, armed, and drunk. O.o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe they mean that if you're old enough to serve in the army, you're old enough to drink. not that only army people can drink at age 18

... true... but my visual is still concerning. It does seem weird that being an adult can only be true in certain cases until after you hit 21. I mean, you were how old when the kiddie menu wasn't allowed? 13 is an adult price, but 18 is an adult movie. You can drive at 16 and you're responsible for every life out on the road for Pete's sake!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about a 21 year old, armed and drunk? how is that any different?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Least when you're 21, you should have those few years of knowledge about the world backing you up. Like the knowledge difference between a 12 year old you and a 15 year old you should be noticeable.

I went to see Eclispe at some movie theatre yesterday with my friends, one's 14, the other is 13. I'm 14 but I look the youngest so my mom payed for my ticket as a child. It was awkward.

Who gives a fuck?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's like with flying aswell. Your an adult when your 12, therefore you pay adult fares. Your still not allowed to fly without a someone over the age of 18 or permission 'till your 18 though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's because they still have to pay for a seat. Did you know on an airplane an adult ticket is ages 2 and up?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the prices should change as the movies you're allowed to see change.
